Where Mike Leach, Mississippi State stand in the SEC, National rankings

Earlier this week, Mississippi State added their 6th commitment of the 2022 class when Montgomery (Ala.) Catholic defensive back Kylon Griffin committed to Mike Leach and his staff.

Griffin chose the Bulldogs over other offers from the likes of Florida State, Penn State, Nebraska, and several others, and becomes the second DB commitment of the class, joining Greenwood (Miss.) Jaterrious Elam.

His commitment, as a 5.6 rating on Rivals, gave the Bulldogs 75 points towards their team ranking. Those points jumped the 'Dogs over schools such as Florida, UNC, and several others.

They currently sit at No. 22nd, which is good enough for 7th in the SEC, ahead of Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and others.

Their next commitment could take them past Missouri in the conference rankings, and past Clemson, Maryland, and Michigan nationally.

5.8 - LB Khalid Moore

5.7 - DB Jaterrious Elam

5.6 -ATH Dakota Jordan, S Kylon Griffin

5.5 - OL Jackson Cannon

Said Griffin about his decision to choose the Bulldogs:

"I'm just excited to be a Bulldog," Griffin said about his decision. ""I am excited to be there, and to allow them the chance to see me in person and coach me up. I've never been to Starkville before, but we have done a Zoom tour, where they showed me around and everything. I loved what we had the chance to see. They really take pride in all they do in that city. I think I will fit in great there defensively. I feel like they are going to put me at safety or the nickel spot."
