Murphy once again commits to Mississippi State

In May of 2016 West Point (MS) High School's Marcus Murphy committed to Mississippi State. Fast forward to January 3 of this year and the nation's 43rd ranked athlete by Rivals chose to decommit and consider other options.

We arrive at today, May 2 of 2017, and once again Murphy announces his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Murphy, a versatile athlete that could play on either side of the ball, says he knew all along that his heart was with Mississippi State.

"It's everything I was looking for, the right fit," the 6-foot 185 pound Murphy said.

In his junior season Murphy rushed for 1,756 yards and collected a total of 29 touchdowns.

While most view him as a slot receiver and kick returner he could also be used in the defensive backfield at safety. He feels the State staff is undecided on his position at this time.

Murphy chose MSU over offers from Michigan, Louisville, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky and several others.
