Winston eyeing summer decision

Due to a shoulder injury, JaMichael Winston did not play as a junior at Vigor High School in Prichard, Ala. But the 2012 defensive end prospect is making up for lost time this summer.
Having collected numerous BCS offers, Winston attended Alabama's camp over the weekend and compiled another good camp showing.

"It was a lot of fun," said the 6-foot-5 and 225-pound Winston. "It did pretty good in the 1-on-1 drills and in the bag drills. They didn't offer me but the coaches told me I did well and that they would talk to me pretty soon."
Before Winston made his way to Tuscaloosa, Ala., he collected his latest offer and it came from Big 10 country in Michigan State. And that offer caught him somewhat by surprise.
"To be honest it was kinda shocking," said Winston. "They are way up in the North and they normally don't recruit guys in the South. So it was a good offer but a surprising offer."
Winston also holds offers from Mississippi State, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida and Syracuse among others. Of that group, Winston said he holds no current leader.
"There isn't one main school that is sticking out right now," said Winston. "But I do want to make my decision before the summer ends. I would say that Louisville, Mississippi State, Arkansas and South Florida are recruiting me the hardest. So it may be one of those schools that I pick but I don't know just yet."
Making his summer trips, however, has started to make his recruitment a little clearer, said Winston.
"I am not sure yet exactly how many more camps I will go to," said Winston. "But I know I am supposed to go back to Mississippi State on July 22nd for their Big Dawg Camp.
"And making these visits has been a big help in recruiting and it does help to clear things up so I can make a decision in the summer."
