Tuesday Camp Biscuits

Mississippi State continued with their camp sessions today and many more linemen were present today. MSU will focus mostly on kickers and punters tomorrow and Thursday with a few more guys coming to camp during that time. Then the small school 7-on-7 camp is Friday:
First Biscuit: One of the most impressive defensive ends today was Nashville (Tenn.) product Caleb Azubike. He plays at McGavock High School and at 6-5 and 240 pounds, he ran a 4.58 today at camp. He has offers from Miami, Vanderbilt, Ketucky, Boston College among others and picked up an MSU offer today after camp. Before today, he said Vandy and Boston College were his favorites but he said this MSU offer has now changed things and that MSU is one of his favorites, too. He said he was coming back to MSU later this summer in July.

Second Biscuit: Azubike's teammates was also on hand in defensive end Kavsman Johnson. He ran a 4.72 today and was also impressive in his agility practice drills and getting off the ball. He said some smaller schools have offered him and that MSU was also interested in him after his showing today.
Third Biscuit: Jim Hill (Miss.) receiver Frederick Brown was one of the best receivers at camp today and definitely in the top two. He showed good hands and good speed, too. He said MSU, Ole Miss, USM, Louisiana-Lafayette and Memphis were showing him interest. He said Ole Miss was thinking about offering and added Ole Miss and MSU are his favorites.
Fourth Biscuit: Covington (Ga.) defensive end/defensive tackle prospect Sheldon Rankins was at camp today as well. He owns numerous offers and he ran a 4.75 twice today at 265 pounds. He said MSU, North Carolina and South Florida were his top 3 favorites and he wasn't making a decision anytime soon. He said that he was surprised at how beautiful MSU's campus was and that it was much better than he expected. He said he was coming back later this summer.
Fifth Biscuit: Provine (Miss.) offensive lineman Cordarrly Gaines was on hand today for the third time in about three months. Gaines checked in at 6-5 and 340 pounds today and was one of the top O-lineman at camp. He has numerous SEC offers (MSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee) and maintained that MSU was his leader. He said he plans to make a decision before his team starts district play this fall.
Sixth Biscuit: O. Perry Walker (New Orleans) High School defensive end/offensive lineman Marques Cheeks also practiced at camp today along with their quarterback Devin Powell. Cheeks has offers from Florida International, Kansas State, MSU and Minnesota and he worked with the defensive lineman today. He said that MSU was his leader but that he wants to take some time before deciding anything. Powell said he was getting some interest from SEC schools as well as Nebraska and Kansas State and Pittsburgh. He was one of the better quarterbacks at camp today.
Seventh Biscuit: Brandon (Miss.) defensive lineman Nelson Adams was at camp today along with his parents. He said he also went to Ole Miss camp over the weekend and that Ole Miss was showing strong interest. He said MSU was still his only offer but noted of the interest from Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Memphis. He said MSU was still his leader because of how comfortable he feels on their campus and around their coaches.
Eighth Biscuit: North Pike (Miss.) defensive end duo A.J. Jefferson and Vernon Butler did not make it to camp today due to not being able to get off work. Both hope to make it for the Big Dawg Camp and both have MSU offers and favor MSU. A few prospects will be here later this week starting tomorrow like Snellville, Ga., safety Zach Jackson.
Ninth Biscuit: Another solid offensive lineman at camp today was Collierville (Tenn.) product Brandon Hill. He said he has offers from USM, Ole Miss, Memphis and that Nebraska and MSU were showing interest. At his size (and there were some big linemen there today), he probably showed the best footwork.
Tenth Biscuit: There was a good collection of juniors also at camp today, including large Brandon (Miss.) offensive tackle David Mahaffey. Noxubee County (Miss.) had their senior receiver Terrance Barron at camp today as well as junior teammates in defensive tackles Dylan Bradley and Deshawn Hopkins.
Eleventh Biscuit: Gainesville (Ga.) High School had a pair of prospects on hand today, including Georgia commit C.J. Curry. Curry was impressive at practice when he was with the receivers and obviously has SEC talent. Also there from Gainesville High School was quarterback Kanler Coker, who said he was drawing interest from Alabama and Vanderbilt.
12th Biscuit Newman (New Orleans) High School 6-foot-6 and 310-pound offensive tackle Alex Paul was at camp today and yet another impressive offensive lineman. He said that LSU, MSU and others were showing him interest. He said he really liked practicing with Coach John Hevesy today and loved Hevesy's intensity and detail to instructions.
13th Biscuit: Oak Grove (Miss.) defensive back Travonte Fenton was one of the better defensive backs at camp today. Fenton was solid in coverage and ran a 4.49 in one of his forty times. He plays physical and also was sharp on his reads and keeping the receivers from getting a good jump at the line of scrimmage. He said MSU, USM, Ole Miss and Memphis were showing him interest and he's hoping to earn some offers this summer.
