Spread offense fits Dobbs

The spread offense is designed to get players the ball in space and let them make plays. It is a perfect fit for some players, and one of those players is Marquis Dobbs of Jordan High School in Morris, Ala. The 5-foot-9 and 187-pound Dobbs is looking for a place where his skill set fits in best.
Last season, the versatile Dobbs split his time between running back and receiver for the Blue Devils, who play in Region 6-5A. He was able to get his hands on the ball from both positions. Dobbs had 562 yards rushing and five touchdowns from his tailback position and 402 yards receiving and two scores from the slot position.

Several schools have taken notice of Dobbs, who runs a 4.50 forty.
"I am hearing from Arkansas State, Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee, Wofford, Holy Cross, Samford, Alabama A&M, and Birmingham Southern," said Dobbs. "I wanna go to a big school, but not too big. I wanna go where I can fit in. Mississippi State really fits what I am looking for."
Marquis was able to attend junior day at Mississippi State recently and really liked what he saw.
"I really liked everything about Mississippi State," Dobbs said. "It is a great place and I really had a good time there. I talked to the coaches and I am going to come back to camp there. I also plan to camp at MTSU and Auburn."
Dobbs is also looking forward to this upcoming season in hopes of impressing the schools he likes.
"My offensive line has gotten bigger and stronger so that's going to help alot next year," noted Dobbs. "I can't wait for the season to start."
Athletics isn't the only the only thing Dobbs is looking for, though.
"I want to find a school with a great business program," said Dobbs. "I want to prepare for life after football."
