Robinson expects to enroll for fall

Training camp begins in exactly one week for Mississippi State and all of the Bulldogs signees are accounted for except three-star running back Josh Robinson.

Robinson has spent the past two months attending summer school and retaking the ACT in order to qualify academically to enroll at MSU this fall.

"I've just been working out and getting ready for school," Robinson said. "That's really all I can do. I had to take another class and redo the ACT. (The class) is going pretty good. It's easy as far as my understanding and easy to comprehend. It's not too hard, just work. I would've had work if I had went to college anyway for summer school so I look at it that way."

The Franklinton, La., native committed to the Bulldogs at Big Dawg Camp last summer and has spent the past year working to become academically eligible to play this season.

"I don't really have any emotions about it," Robinson said. "I'm ready to get to school and get this classwork done but at the same time I'm not worried about it. It's going to come. I'm just going with the flow because that's all I can do."

Robinson is currently finishing up a Mississippi studies class that concludes on Aug. 3. State players report back to campus Aug. 1 and begin fall camp on Aug. 4. It is still in the air whether or not Robinson will be among that group next week.

"When I get out on the 3rd all my work is going to be transferred to the clearinghouse," Robinson said. "So the quicker I get it done the better. I'll probably report for the training camp but if not the second week of August."

Robinson spent quite a bit of time in Starkville around his future teammates during the month of June. He worked out with his cousin, MSU redshirt freshman receiver Jameon Lewis, and several other Bulldog players.

"(Lewis) helped me out in June," Robinson said. "With us playing together and also being cousins we help each other out. If he sees me doing something wrong he will help me or if I see him doing something wrong I'll help him. I started getting adapted to it pretty quick."

During that time Robinson stated that he weighed in at 220-pounds and had kept his forty times in the 4.27-4.30 range.

As a senior, Robinson helped lead Franklinton to a Class 4A State Championship with a 14-1 record. He averaged 11.4 yards per carry rushing 97 times for 1,105 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes out of the backfield for an additional 558 yards and seven more scores.

Robinson was rated the No. 30 prospect in Louisiana and the 49th best running back nationally by Rivals.com. He had scholarship offers from Louisiana Tech, Memphis, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, Tulsa and Central Florida.
