Rivals250 ATH interested in the Bulldogs

Since there’s plenty of time before he has to make a college decision, Rivals250 four-star athlete Myles Mason is not in any rush to commit.

The 2018 prospect from Pleasant Grove, Ala. HS says he’s far from even naming favorites, something that he plans to do months and months from now.

“I plan to really start breaking it down during the summer time,” Mason told BulldogBlitz.com. “Right now I’m just trying to finish school off strong and I’m just keeping my options open right now really.”

The 6-foot-2 and 185-pound prospect doesn’t have too many plans set before the summer. But he is hoping to visit two SEC schools and an ACC power.

“I’m going to try to go to Alabama’s Junior Day and go to Auburn soon,” Mason said. “And I’ll try to get down to Florida State too.”

Mason says the Florida Gators are also involved for him, meaning that Mississippi State should have some fierce competition if the Bulldogs want to sign this prospect.

But the coaching staff is living up to that challenge. Mason says Mississippi State is recruiting him hard, led by the co-offensive coordinator.

“Their coach, Coach (Billy) Gonzales, he’s been texting me,” Mason said. “Every once in a while he’ll just send a message saying they want me to come down there soon.”

Mason, who believes Mississippi State is recruiting him as a safety, hopes to visit the Bulldogs soon.

“Probably so, I’m trying to go just about everywhere I can when I can,” Mason said. “My schedule is kind of busy right now with 7-on-7 and stuff like that.”

He also says he could see himself enrolling at Mississippi State for a couple of reasons.

“They’re a good program,” Mason said. “They have a good football program and a good academic program as well.”

And Mason’s interest is more than just talk. He visited campus during the season for a football game.
