Perkins Remaining Busy
As spring practice rapidly approaches, Forrest County's Adarrius Perkins has already received a handful of verbal offers, including a trio of SEC offers. To get a better feel for these programs, the receiver/safety prospect has been active attending junior days over the past month.
Last month the 6-foot-2 and 197-pound Perkins attended junior days at Ole Miss and Southern Miss. Then a week ago, Perkins made the trip to Starkville to attend junior day at Mississippi State.

"I enjoyed all of those juniors days and they were all good," said Perkins, who had 50 tackles and five interceptions last year and also totaled nearly 500 yards and five touchdowns on offense. "With Ole Miss, I like their location and their coaches stuck out to me.
"It was the same at Mississippi State and I really like what they are trying to do with their program. They are trying to win big at Mississippi State and they are coming off a good year."
At MSU, Perkins said he visited with a pair of positions coaches, naturally the coaches at the positions he plays at Forrest County.
"Mississippi State really didn't say much about a set position," said Perkins. "So I went with their receivers coach (Angelo Mirando) for some time and then I went over with Coach (Tony) Hughes and the safety prospects.
"Wherever I go to college, I still am not sure what side of the ball I will be on but that is fine. Everyone is mainly recruiting me as an athlete and wherever college coaches put me is fine with me."
Perkins, who said he was "strictly focusing on football" this spring, already owns offers from MSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Southern Miss and Arkansas State. He plans to see even more of the in-state schools this summer and is anxious to get a better view of the coaches and players at those schools.
"I plan to go to some Nike combines," said Perkins. "I am also going to some college camps at Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. I have also been invited to a camp at Louisiana-Lafayette and their junior day, too.
"I believe this summer will help to give me more information about these schools. And when I pick a school, I will mostly be picking based on who will be coaching me at my position and about the people that will be around me."
