Mississippi State linebacker DeShawn Page underwent surgery on his left leg Wednesday, according to his Instagram.
"Thank ya'll for da prayers. Surgery was smoove. Small setback," Page wrote on his Instagram story.
The former East Mississippi Community College standout appeared in 13 games in his first season with the Bulldogs a year ago, where he totaled 11 tackles, primarily playing special teams.
The redshirt junior has played in all four games for Mississippi State this year as the backup to Jett Johnson at the Will linebacker spot, racking up nine tackles. He most recently was named the Tough Man of the Week by Mississippi State coaches for his efforts in the Bulldogs' 45-14 win over Bowling Green, where he made three tackles and was excellent in pass coverage.
The specifics of the injury and a timeline for a possible return are both unknown at this time.
