Coach Jeff Lebby made his first big splash in the spring transfer portal window with addition of Miami (OH) running back Rashad Amos.

Rashad Amos played three years at South Carolina where he saw very limited action. In 2023 he transferred to Miami (OH) where he had a breakout campaign. He rushed for 1,075 and 12 touchdowns on a Miami (OH) team that finished 11-3 and won a MAC championship.

Amos rushed for 100+ in four different contests in 2023. This was highlighted by a 180 yard performance on 33 attempts in a Cure Bowl loss against Appalachian State in the season finale. In his 14 games played, there were only three where Amos did not find the endzone. This includes three multi score games.

Rashad Amos will bring much needed depth to a running back room with question marks. MSU lost their leading rusher from a year ago as Woody Marks transferred to USC. Expect Amos to join Keyvone Lee and Jeffrey Pittman in the competition to be the lead back. However, it is necessary to have multiple reliable running backs that can get you yards on the ground.

The spring transfer portal officially opens this Tuesday, April 16th. Expect to see chaos like never before in this transfer cycle.
