Mission accomplished for Perkins

Forrest County (Miss.) junior Adarrius Perkins entered spring with several things on his agenda. As the 6-foot-3 and 205-pound Perkins exited those spring drills, had left with a 'mission accomplished' feeling.
Last fall Perkins lined up at receiver, running back and also defensive back. He had nearly 400 yards of total offense and four touchdowns as well as totaling 51 tackles and five interceptions on defense, including a pick-six.

"We finished up spring ball last week and I did what I set out to do this spring," said Perkins. "I feel I got better on both sides of the ball and helped my team. I played receiver, defensive back and even some at our scat linebacker position.
"At receiver I got better in a lot of areas like running routes and catching the ball in traffic. On defense I was more aggressive and enjoyed playing that outside linebacker position and that was a lot of fun."
Early on in his recruiting process, Perkins holds offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Memphis. He noted all those schools stopped by this spring and he is currently deciding on his summer slate.
"I am going to some camps, for sure, but I haven't figured it all out and really sat down to figure it all out yet," said Perkins. "But I do plan to go to all of the in-state camps."
Recruited as an athlete, Perkins added one school is recruiting him the hardest right now followed by a pair of SEC schools.
"I would say Southern Miss is recruiting me the hardest right now," said Perkins. "Things are going good with them and it's good that they are close to home. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are right behind them as far as recruiting me the hardest. Both of them are two good programs and two good schools that are also not far from home."
When asked of his timeframe for his collegiate decision, Perkins said it could come down sometime during his senior year if not before.
"It may be before our season starts or halfway through the season," said Perkins. "First of all I have to see what I want to major in and then see which school has the best program for my major. And I don't know yet what I want to major in. Then I am going to look at distance and then starting looking harder at the coaching staffs and depth charts."
