Mississippi State has picked up a commitment from Ellisville (Miss.) Jones County Junior College defensive back Fred Peters.

The 6-foot-2 200-pound safety chose the Bulldogs over offers from Ole Miss, Florida and Colorado among others.

College programs have been impressed with Peters' speed as well as the physical element to his game.

“They like how physical I play and how I move,” he previously said.

Peter is a versatile athlete than can play either safety position and has even fill in at nickel corner if needed.

He will have three years to play two when he leaves the junior college level this coming December.
