Holloway to be a Bulldog!

Mississippi State has made a concerted effort this year to recruit players that could play multiple positions and if anybody fits that criteria in the state this year, it is Seminary (Miss.) athlete Tim Holloway. After thriving at both the tailback slot and the linebacker positions, many schools loved his potential. After pondering several options, he finally chose the Bulldogs this afternoon. What lifted the Croom crew over the top?
"He committed to them about four o'clock today," commented Seminary head coach Lance Mancuso. "He just called me on my cell phone and said, 'Coach, I am ready to get this over with'. He said, 'I am going to State,' and that is what he has wanted to do all along, so I just think he was ready to get it behind him."

So what are the Bulldogs getting with their most recent pledge?
"They are getting a tremendous athlete, one, and his ability to be able to play both offensively and defensively, whichever side of the ball he is going to fit in best for coach Croom is just a plus," Mancuso said. "Mississippi State is not going in saying they are signing a running back, or hey we're signing a linebacker, but they are going in with a kid that has a tremendous amount of potential to play on either side of the football.
"Secondly, probably the most important thing is they got a kid that is really willing and really excited about getting an opportunity to play, and hungry to show a lot of folks that may have looked over him because of some things that have happened in the past. I just think he is going to be a more focused player because of it."
At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds with a 4.6-second forty yard dash time, it is easy to see why all of the attention is coming in. The story going into signing day was that Holloway was likely JUCO bound, but Mancuso added that was not necessarily the case.
"His chances of getting in are good," he said. "He has a chance."
