Fouquier shows versatility

Make no mistake, Lafayette (La.) High School's Kevin Fouquier II just wants to be involved on the gridiron and that relates to rarely leaving the field. The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound Fouquier lines up at quarterback and receiver on offense, and then moves over to safety and sometimes linebacker on the defensive side.
And college programs are loving his versatility this spring. North Carolina and Georgia Tech have already offered him as well as Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette. He is also hearing from other BCS programs such as Mississippi State, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn and Tennessee.

"Spring is going good and I've got some more offers coming in," said Fouquier. "I am always doing something in practice and it's the same on Friday nights. When I am not at quarterback I am at receiver. And if I am not on offense then I am playing defense at safety.
"All of the bigger schools like in the SEC like me as an outside linebacker and so does Georgia Tech. And then North Carolina and Texas A&M are recruiting me as an H back."
So far this spring, Fouquier noted of the schools that have stopped by or are planning to make future visits to see him.
"A lot of schools have come by like Georgia Tech and LSU, and both of those schools are coming back, too," said Fouquier. "And then Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Auburn and Tennessee are saying they are coming by."
Earlier this year, Fouquier took in an unofficial visit to MSU and attended one of the Bulldogs' junior days.
"The Mississippi State coaches are talking a lot to my dad," said Fouquier. "At first they had my wrong address on their mailing list so now I am hearing from them some and I hope they come to see me this spring. I am definitely going camping there this summer and I really had a great visit up there before. Mississippi State, LSU and Texas A&M are big-time programs around this area and it is great to get interest from them."
Along with a trip to Starkville, Fouquier is also planning other camp visits this summer to give him a better idea of where schools stand with him.
"I am going to Miami's camp on June 8th and I am also going to Mississippi State and Tennessee," Said Fouquier. "I know the LSU and North Carolina camps are on the same day. So I am going to be at LSU that day and then maybe just take an unofficial visit to North Carolina this summer."
