Five Bulldogs selected for All-Star games

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Five Mississippi State seniors have been chosen to participate in post-season all-star games, it was announced Friday. Senior captains Pernell McPhee, Derek Sherrod, Chris White and K.J. Wright have accepted invitations to play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl, while center J.C. Brignone will play in the East-West Shrine Game.
McPhee, Sherrod, White and Wright will continue a streak of 17 consecutive years with at least one Bulldog playing in the Mobile, Ala., classic. Mississippi State has now placed 80 total players in the game since its inception in 1950. The Under Armour Senior Bowl will kickoff at 3 p.m. on January 29 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, with the game televised nationally by the NFL Network. Tickets are available online at www.seniorbowl.com.

Brignone will suit up for the East Team at the 86th Annual East-West Shrine Game, set for 4 p.m. on January 22 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Brignone is the first Bulldog to play in the game since Keith Fitzhugh helped lead the East to a win in the 2009 game.
Several other Bulldog seniors are expecting invitations to the East-West Shrine Game, NFLPA All-Star Game or other post-season all-star games around the nation.
