Douglas, Pegues named All-SEC

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State senior linebacker Dominic Douglas and senior defensive back Derek Pegues were both tabbed with second-team all-Southeastern Conference honors as determined by a vote of the league's coaches, the SEC announced Tuesday.
Douglas, also selected to the Associated Press all-SEC second team, led the conference with 116 total tackles. He was the first Bulldog defender to lead the league in tackles since Mario Haggan posted 132 in 2000. The Clinton, Miss, native played the first four games at outside linebacker before making a switch to the middle linebacker spot.
Pegues was named to the squad for the third-consecutive season, becoming the first State player since Haggan (2000-02) to accomplish that feat. He finished his career with school records for total kick returns, total kick return yardage, kickoff returns and kickoff return yardage. He also closed out his tenure in Starkville with 12 interceptions, tied for second all time in school history.
