Dixon tabbed SEC Offensive Player of the Week

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's senior tailback Anthony Dixon has been tabbed by the Southeastern Conference as their Offensive Player of the Week, after his record-setting performance this past Saturday, Oct. 31, in MSU's 31-24 road victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.
Dixon set an MSU-record of 252 yards rushing on a career-high 33 carries.

Dixon's output on the ground was the most by anyone in the SEC this season, and the 15th highest total in a single game in conference history. It was Dixon's first career 200-yard game and his sixth 100-yard rushing game this season. Dixon found the endzone twice this past Saturday, in which both instances gave the Bulldogs the lead, upping the seniors' touchdown total to nine on the season. Dixon also grabbed two passes for 14 yards against the Wildcats.
This was the second time Dixon has been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week and the first time an MSU player has won the honor since Dixon did so last November 24, following 179-yard effort against Arkansas. This is also the third-straight week a Bulldog has been honored by the SEC office, with freshmen Johnthan Banks and Corey Broomfield being named SEC Freshman of the Week in the previous two weeks.
MSU will enjoy a break with a bye week this weekend before their next game on Saturday, Nov. 14 at home against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Game time is set for 6 p.m. CT, and will be televised nationally on either ESPN or ESPN 2.
