Desper Speaks of MSU Jr. Day

Devon Desper got to watch Mississippi State in action a few times last fall and this past weekend, the Madison Central junior center got another chance to be on the Bulldogs' campus.
Along with numerous other prospects, the 6-foot-4 and 295-pound Desper attended MSU's second junior day of the year.

"It went very good and I was glad I was up there," said Desper. "I've been there a couple of times and I definitely like it up there. I got to watch their offensive linemen practice and that was good, too. Every position plays at a fast pace in their practices and they are all very aggressive."
Desper is currently drawing interest from several schools in the SEC and noted the Bulldogs are showing the most interest.
"Mississippi State is recruiting me the hardest right now," said Desper. "Ole Miss and Alabama are also showing me interest and so is Southern Miss. I have also been to Alabama's junior day and that was a good trip, too. But I think I am probably through visiting any schools except for going back to watch more of Mississippi State's spring practice.
"I am not sure of my schedule just yet this summer but I do know I am going to some camps and will probably camp at Mississippi State and Ole Miss. I want to go learn some new techniques and gain as much as I can in camps."
During his MSU junior day experience, Desper also noted he received some encouraging words from MSU head coach Dan Mullen.
"Coach Mullen talked to me some and it was good to visit with him," said Desper. "He wants me and my family to come talk with him more and he wants to have a sit-down meeting with me and my parents. So it was definitely good to hear that."
So far in his recruitment, Desper said he is just waiting to see what school offers first and what may unfold in the future.
"It's been good so far," said Desper. "It is always good to get interest from SEC schools and be able to see these programs up close."
