Decision time nearing for Banks

Over the past couple of months, Denton (Texas) High School's Dominique Banks has witnessed a steady flow of offers in his direction. But of late, the rising senior defensive end has enjoyed some peace and quiet on the recruiting scene.
"I haven't picked up any new offers lately and I've just been busy in the weight room and working out with the team," said Banks. "I haven't been able to make any camps, either, and I was going to Mississippi State's camp. But my dad couldn't get off work so that we could make it there."

Banks currently owns numerous offers, including the likes of Mississippi State, Arkansas, Colorado, Boise State, Illinois, Arizona State, Baylor and Virginia. Although he missed MSU's camp scene this month, he said things are still going well with the Bulldogs.
"Everything is still going great with Mississippi State," noted Banks, who is originally from Port Gibson, Miss. "I talked to coach Chris Wilson and coach Melvin Smith a good bit and they want me at the Big Dawg Camp on July 22nd. They told me they have a spot for me in this class. My cousin (Port Gibson rising senior) Adairius Barnes is also going to be at the Big Dawg Camp and then I am coming with my mom and dad and another cousin."
And when that Big Dawg Camp arrives, Banks said his recruitment will likely come to a close.
"I plan to go ahead and commit to Mississippi State that day," said Banks. "I told Coach Wilson and Coach Smith of my plans and they were pretty excited. They are in my homestate and I grew up watching Mississippi State and Ole Miss play a lot. And I am getting anxious to go ahead and get it over with."
