Clausell keeps commitment a secret
Blaine Clausell proved the he is good at keeping secrets.
The 6-foot-7, 278-pound offensive tackle from Mobile, Ala., has been committed to Mississippi State for a week but the cat was let out of the bag tonight when he showed up at the Big Dawg Camp in Starkville.

In fact, the only people that knew of his commitment were his parents, his high school coach and the MSU staff.
Clausell chose the Bulldogs over other offers from UAB, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Lousiana-Lafayette and Troy.
"(Mississippi State) seemed like it was the best choice for me to advance in my football career," Clausell said. "I want to play in the pros and it just seemed like it was the best place for it to happen."
Clausell is the first offensive line commitment for MSU as well as its first out-of-state pledge.
Clausell has been taking night classes this summer in order to graduate in December and plans to enroll early.
"I'm going to graduate in December and will be able to start in January," Clausell said. "I know that I will be there in the spring so I can get a jump on everybody else."
Clausell feels like getting the decision done early will help him concentrate on getting Baker High School back on track. The Hornets went winless in 2008 in Class 6A.
"It will help take some of the pressure off before my senior year," Clausell said. "I want to be able to focus on having a good season. We should be better than last year. We can't get any worse. We went 0-10 so we can only get better."
Clausell ran his forty at the Big Dawgs Camp and also did some lifting in the weight room. He clocked in with 5.01 speed and has a 300-pound bench press and 450-pound squat but did not max out during his visit to Starkville.
