Bulldogs add commitment from Ga. OL Jackson Cannon

Mississippi State added their fourth commitment of the 2022 class on Monday afternoon.

Jackson Cannon, a largely unknown offensive line prospect from Ola (Ga.) announced his decision to commit to the Bulldogs over other offers from Ball State, Western Kentucky, and UAB among others.

Cannon becomes the first offensive line commitment for the class, after Mason Miller and Co. signed a total of five players at the position.

In a system like the one being run currently in Starkville, signing a large quantity of offensive lineman is something Bulldogs fans should get used to. That is even more true in the last couple of cycles (2021. 2022, etc.) due to the inability to scout these prospects in-person.

Now more than ever before, workout videos, highlight tapes, and word of mouth are critical in the recruiting process.

Schools have also been much more open to taking an out-of-state commitment from someone that they may not have seen, but the relationships inside of said state are strong. Down the road, if necessary, commitments of that type have less risk than those inside the state of Mississippi.
