Brown still favoring three

One of the hottest names in recruiting from the state of Alabama over the past few monthes has been Florence running back/ defensive back Beniquez Brown.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound three-star prospect has offers from eight SEC schools but has narrowed that list down to three.

"I have offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Tennessee," Brown said. "I have narrowed that list down to MSU, Alabama and Florida. I would have to say Alabama is my leader right now. But I also really like Mississippi State. I know that's where my teammate Kivon Coman is going. If he goes there then I will for sure look at them harder. It would play a big role in my decision. We have talked for years about playing together in college and I would have to think about that."
One of the reasons that Brown is looking hard at Mississippi State is their coaching staff. He has developed a bond with one of the coaches in particular.
"Coach (Geoff) Collins is a great guy," Brown said. "He is just so goofy. He makes you feel at home. He is always there if you have a question. He always tells me to come to Mississippi State and be a part of something special. Coach (Dan) Mullen is the same way. He is always there for me when I have a question. I feel like Mississippi State offers me the best chance to play early. They have things headed in the right direction, so I have to think about all of that too."
With his high school season kicking off Friday night, Brown is doing everything he can to get ready for a big senior season.
Florence has a traditional power to play and have been working very hard to prove they belong in the elite category. Brown is ready to do whatever it takes to help his team win.
"We are playing Vestavia Hills Friday night," Brown said. "They are a traditional power. I guess that means that we are the underdogs. We have to play every play like it's our last play. We have to play very hard and take the game to them. If we do that I think that we have the team to come out with the win."
