Bost named SEC Freshman of the Week
STARKVILLE , Miss. ‑ Mississippi State point guard Dee Bost has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Concord , N.C. , native averaged 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds this past week in the Bulldogs' two games against Western Kentucky and Arkansas , both decisive victories.

Against the Hilltoppers, he poured in a career-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting and followed that performance with a 17-point effort on the road at Arkansas . In his last three games, Bost is 16 of 25 from the floor, including a 6-of-12 mark from 3-point range.
He enters Wednesday's 7 p.m. showdown against Alabama at Humphrey Coliseum averaging 9.8 points and 4.3 assists an outing.
He's the second MSU player to be recognized this season. On Nov. 24, junior forward Jarvis Varnado was tabbed the SEC player of the week. This week, that honor went to Florida 's Nick Calathes.
