Kicker Logan Cooke and Columbia Academy defeated Bowling Green (La.) 13-12. Cooke handled all kicking duties for the Cougars as well as playing tight end on offense where he made a 27-yard reception. His only field goal try of 47 yards was missed, but he had four punts that averaged 37.7 yards per punt. He also had every kickoff land safely in the endzone for a touchback.

Newton County Wide Receiver Jamoral Graham had five touches for over 100 yards Friday night as his team routed Neshoba Central 47-14. Graham caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown and rushed the ball three times for 75.
Recently-updated four-star linebacker Gerri Green and Greenville-Weston defeated Indianola Gentry 25-22 Friday night and Green played on both sides of the ball. Offensively he had a touchdown reception to his credit but did his work on defense. Green recorded 18 tackles with seven of those solos, two TFL and a forced fumble and fumble recovered.
The offensive line duo of Jordan Harris and Tyler Jones of Stephenson(Ga.) had a hard fought loss against Norland, 15-14.
Defensive end Darius Liggins and the Chargers from Oxford started things off right with a win over MAIS power Jackson Prep, 32-20. Liggins made five tackles with one for loss from his defensive end position.
Defensive back Chris Rayford of Byhalia did it all against Holly Springs. In their 32-8 win, Rayford had a five-tackle game and showed out on offense rushing seven times for 108 yards and hitting the endzone three times. Rayford is expected to play defense at MSU.
Quarterback Elijah Staley was able to spend more time on the sidelines than on the field Friday night as Wheeler (Ga.) rolled Sprayberry 44-14. Staley was in the game most of the first half throwing three touchdowns on 5-of-6 passing with 160 yards.
The Red Rebels from Harrison Central and MSU defensive back commit Lashard Durr started the season off with a win knocking off Stone, 21-7. His stats were not recorded at the time of this release.
Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald wait one more week before starting their season at home against Johnson.
Columbus (Ga.) High School and linebacker Deshon Cooper won't get to tune in to the Texas Kickoff as they begin their season next Saturday against Brookstone.
Forrest County and running back Dontavian Lee begin their season next week against one of the top teams in the state, Bassfield.

JUCO linemen Jocquell Johnson of Copiah and Norman Price of Hinds start their season this Thursday as JUCO football heats up around the state.
2015 Class
2013 signee Donald Gray begins his first game in Junior College this Thursday with Copiah-Lincoln. Gray is committed to the Bulldogs for the 2015 class.
2016 Class
Sophomore linebacker Jonathan Pollock of Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando gets set for his first game of the season next week vs. Timber Creek.
