Baseball suspended in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State's weekend opening matchup with Auburn was suspended due to weather Thursday night.
The 10th ranked Bulldogs held a 6-3 lead with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning when play was stopped. The game will be resumed following Friday's 6:30 p.m. matchup between the two SEC West programs.

MSU had totaled five hits when the players were pulled off the field at 8:59 p.m. due to lightning. Centerfielder C.T. Bradford is 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
First baseman Wes Rea blasted his fourth home run of the season to lead off the second inning and has driven in two runs.
Ross Mitchell stands to be the winner if the score holds. Mitchell tossed three innings of scoreless relief allowing four hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Diamond Dog starter Luis Pollorena lasted 3 1/3 innings giving up three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Closer Jonathan Holder is vying for his 12th save of the season.
Auburn has nine hits led by left fielder Cullen Wacker's 3-for-3 performance with three singles and an RBI. Right fielder Hunter Kelley also has a double for the Tigers.
Auburn starter Conner Kendrick is on the hook for the loss if things remain as is. Kendrick lasted 5 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
Trey Cochran-Gill was entering his second inning of relief when the game was called.
The Tigers have committed four errors which have led to four unearned runs.
Friday's game will feature Bulldog senior righty Kendall Graveman (5-2, 2.15 ERA, 39 K, 14 BB) faceoff against junior southpaw Michael O'Neal (7-2, 2.40 ERA, 23 K, 12 BB) of Auburn.
