STARKVILLE, Miss. -Mississippi State senior forward Jarvis Varnado added to his already impressive hardware collection on Monday as he was named first-team All-SEC by the Associated Press.

Also recognized was sophomore point guard Dee Bost, who received honorable mention honors.
Last week, Varnado was named first-team All-SEC by the coaches and was a unanimous selection for SEC Defensive Player of the Year for the third-straight season in addition to making the league's All-Defensive team.
"I'm very appreciative of all the recognition," said the 6-foot-9 senior from Brownsville , Tenn. , Varnado, who is also a finalist for the Wooden and Naismith awards and stands at 12th all-time at MSU with 1,368 points. "I'm just so blessed."
Varnado leads MSU with a 13.6 scoring clip, while his 10.3 rebounds and 163 blocked shots are tops in the SEC. He's also posted a team- and career-high 17 double-doubles, the second most in the league.
He's also the only player in the history of the NCAA to have 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 blocks for a career.
"As great of a player he is, he's a better person," 12th-year coach Rick Stansbury said.
Bost, who set a MSU freshman record a year ago with 156 assists, is averaging 12.8 points, the third-highest output on the team.
He's also dished out 178 assists and ranks ninth all-time in MSU history with 334.
Last week, he was named second-team All-SEC and last year, the Concord , N.C. , native made the SEC All-Freshman team.
