Fred Ross Named First-Team All-SEC By Associated Press

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Owner of six school records, Mississippi State senior wide receiver Fred Ross was named first-team All-Southeastern Conference by the league’s coaches, the Associated Press announced Thursday.

Ross now is a member of two All-SEC teams this season as he was named second-team by SEC coaches on Tuesday. In 2015, the AP named Ross second-team All-SEC.

A native of Tyler, Texas, Ross owns six school records, including four career records: catches (195), consecutive games with a catch (34), 100-yard receiving games (10) and receiving yards (2,484).

Along with leading MSU this season in receptions (68) and yards (873), Ross ranks first in the SEC in touchdown receptions (12), third in receptions per game (5.7) and fifth in receiving yards per game (72.8). Ross is tops in the SEC in 10+ yard catches (36). The best performance of the season for Ross came against Arkansas on Nov. 19 as he made a season-high 10 catches for a career-high 171 yards and tied a career-high with two receiving touchdowns.

Ross and the rest of the Bulldogs have one more game remaining in the 2016 season as they take on Miami (Ohio) in the St. Petersburg Bowl, Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. CT on ESPN.
