WR JaVonta Payton enters transfer portal

Coming off the tail-end of spring practice, Mississippi State wide senior wide receiver JaVonta Payton has entered the transfer portal.

Payton has contributed the last two seasons for the Bulldogs, playing in all 13 games of 2019 and nine games in 2020.

In 2019, Payton had nine receptions for 147 yards. Last season, he snagged 19 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown.

Payton also played in the kick return game, returning four kicks for 82 yards in 2019. In 2020, he totaled 121 yards from six returns.
