Mississippi State has the opportunity to bring in a solid class among the current juniors that will be signing next season. One of those stand out players in state already made the call as he saw enough on Saturday night to decide he was ready to be a Bulldog.
Yazoo City has a star in the making at linebacker in [db]Tim Washington[/db]. The talented Washington has made strides and is bidding to become one of the top defensive players in the southeast next season. On Saturday, he became the Bulldogs' second commit in the class of 2015.
"I've been to other schools for the past couple of months and they've treated me like family every time," Washington said. "I've been up here several times and MSU just feels like home and it's where I want to be. I was ready to shut it down now and get ready to recruit."
Recruiting is something he already started doing on Saturday night as MSU had more than 85 prospects visiting as the Bulldogs took on Alabama. The group of recruits saw a great defensive performance and one that got Washington excited for the future.
"I've been to Alabama games and have seen them play some great defenses. They do what they want against other schools and they score on teams. State did very well. As well as anyone that I've seen against Bama this season. It gets me excited."
"I told some of the guys at the game that we can win at Mississippi State. They were all pretty impressed with how the team did and it got some of us fired up," Washington said about the defensive performance. "My goal is to get over there and win a national championship."
Washington made it official after the game when he told Geoff Collins, David Turner and Dan Mullen that he was committed to the Bulldogs. After a tough loss, it was a breath of fresh air for the staff to get one of the big fish.
"Even though they lost, the coaches were excited when I told them the news. They just told me that we're going to build something special here and that I'm going to be one of the guys that helps lead it."
Washington is the second edition to the 2015 class joining Co-lin Community College ATH Donald Gray.
