How did he get here? Lawrence arrived in Starkville from the Mississippi private school ranks where he earned first team, All-State honors. He was a two-star rated tight end at Magnolia Heights hauling in 11 passes for 225 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. Lawrence also was a standout on the Chiefs defense and was also the long snapper.
What did he do last year? Lawrence pushed his consecutive starts streak to 25 games after starting all 13 games for the Bulldogs at right tackle. He graded out at 80-percent or higher 10 times including each of the last eight contests.
What does he need to do in 2011? As one of two returning senior starters on the offensive line, Lawrence needs to become the unit's leader. Both he and Quentin Saulsberry have started multiple seasons and are veterans of trench warfare. It is their responsibility to pass their knowledge down to the younger players.
Lawrence brings a workpail mentality at right tackle. He doesn't do anything fancy but just simply gets the job done snap after snap. Lawrence needs to simply remain the anchor on the right side of the line.
He is also one of the more colorful characters on the roster. While he does not receive much camera time playing on the offensive line he still paints his face before each game as he and his younger brother Cameron Lawrence have done since high school.
Coach's quote: John Hevesy, offensive line - "It's good to have Addison back and he has the experience and is a very smart player. He is a guy that everybody is watching now and he does a good job with the little things and the techniques."
