Rummell Junior Lineman Calls the Bulldogs his New Home

It's been no secret that Mississippi State has made a major impression on junior defensive lineman Briston Guidry out of Metarie, La., and Rummell High School. The surprise came on Wednesday, however, when the talented tackler decided to shut his recruitment down and commit to the Bulldogs a year before his senior season.
"I just wanted to really get it over with," Guidry said of his decision. "They have a nice coaching staff and they're team oriented. They love academics which is really important to me."

The main reason that Guidry might have chose the Bulldogs likely lied in defensive line coach David Turner, though. The veteran coach has hit the recruiting trail hard during his second stint at MSU and Guidry was one of his main concerns.
"They have a great d-line coach that I can't wait to play for," Guidry said of Turner. "We have a great relationship where we can talk about anything. I can call him up and tell him whatever is on my mind. He was happy to have me as a Bulldog. He was pretty pumped about it."
Guidry is teammates with another big-time target on the line as 2015 defensive lineman Tyrell Jacobs is another piece of the puzzle for MSU. Guidry said that that's his main target to get on the boat with him.
Guidry also reports that he will be in Starkville for MSU's annual Big Dawg Camp in mid July. As for if the Bulldogs will 100% get his signature on signing day in a year, time will tell. He does know that right now, MSU is where he certainly wants to be.
"I pretty much knew from the start that MSU was my school," Guidry said. "I can't say right now that everything is closed but it sure feels like it. MSU just feels like home and I'm happy to be a Bulldog."
Guidry is the Bulldogs' second 2016 commit joining Orlando linebacker Jonathan Pollock.
