MS Athlete Wants to Stay Close to Home

"I think I have a good arm, and I think with a little bit of work I could have a really accurate arm," commented Brad Foster from Lee Academy in Clarksdale. "I run well, and I have good hands."

The 6-2, 200 pound athlete plays quarterback for Lee academy and runs a 4.5 forty. He squats 415 pounds, bench presses 300 pounds, and had his vertical jump measured at an impressive 35" at an Ole Miss camp this summer.
Although he possesses the skills to play several positions Brad wants to be a quarterback. He knows, however, that there is the possibility of being moved to another position.
"In college I am expecting to be a quarterback, but I could go there, and they might have too many quarterbacks, and I could easily end up being a receiver or free safety," he commented. He also played center for the Lee Academy basketball team as a tenth grader.
"The first thing I have to do is decide what I want to major in," Brad commented on what he is looking for in a college. "That is going to have a lot to with where I go.
"Then just the fact of actually getting to play, not just being on the team. I don’t want to just go somewhere and sit on the sidelines."
So where would Brad like to go to school? "Probably right now, I’ve got it narrowed to Mississippi State and Ole Miss, and maybe Southern Miss," he said. Proximity to home makes a big difference to him. "It really does, that’s why I like MSU and Ole Miss." Brad’s dad played football at Southern Miss.
"Mississippi State is recruiting me the hardest," he said. Although he hasn’t received any offers yet, Coach Glen Davis from Mississippi State called him during the early evaluation period.
In addition to the Ole Miss camp he attended this summer, Foster has also attended both Mississippi State camps. Last year he also went to both Mississippi State camps along with the Manning Passing Academy. He attended junior day at Auburn this spring, and also went to “three or four” Mississippi State home games last fall.
Foster projects as an academic qualifier. Although he is unsure of his GPA, he is only one point shy of the necessary ACT score.
