Mississippi State throws hat in the ring for Dixon

The Latest: Mississippi State doesn't have many spots left in their 2017 class, so why not swing for the fences? They offered Rivals250 linebacker Breon Dixon on Thursday.

Dixon, the nation's No. 7 overall inside linebacker, was formerly a Georgia commit. Michigan, TCU, and USC are a few of the schools that are targeting the four-star prospect hard.

In his words: “I’m keeping all options open right now,” Dixon said. “I’m trying to see what’s going to fit me best as a player to show case my talents and stuff like that and what I can do. I feel like the Pac-12 will really give me a chance to showcase that and stuff like that. So I’ve been in contact with a few Pac-12 schools, Big Ten and I’ve been in contact with a few ACC and SEC schools too.”

BulldogBlitz reaction: Offering Dixon this late in the game is laughable, honestly. Maybe Mississippi State has some kind of inside edge in his recruitment that we don't know about, but they're just way too late to get heavily involved in Dixon's recruitment.
