Mississippi State has been targeting Jackson (Miss.) Callaway High School prospects fairly hard.

They already have two commitments from Callaway in 2017 linebacker Aaron Odom and 2018 wide receiver Malik Heath.

With former Callaway head coach Patrick Austin now a recruiting specialist at MSU, the Callaway pipeline should stay alive and strong.

A prospect that MSU is now looking at from Callaway is Tim Robinson, a 2018 strong safety. He transferred from Jim Hill H.S. in April and played spring ball with the Chargers.

Robinson doesn't have any offers yet, but schools have shown interest.

"I have received two letters from Purdue," Robinson said. "The South Alabama coach has talked to my coach about me a couple of times."

Mississippi State's running back coach Greg Knox is taking a look at Robinson.

"Coach Knox is intrigued by his athleticism and physical play as he develops," Callaway head coach Darius Brown said. "On the field, he is a very disciplined, explosive, and football smart guy. Guys like Harrell Blackmon and Aaron Odom rave about his effort and physicality. He has earned the respect of his teammates."
