Mississippi State adds commitment from corner Jaylon Reed

Friday night was good to Mississippi State football as the program added two verbal commitments.

Early in the evening LB/DE Devon Robinson announced for the Bulldogs and shortly before midnight cornerback Jaylon Reed added his name to the 2018 recruiting class.

Reed, a 6-foot-1 175-pound rising senior at Olive Branch (Ms) High School held offers from over 20 schools but in the end it was the homestate team that he was most comfortable with.

In April Reed committed to the Tennessee Vols but withdrew his commitment in early June.

Reed is rated Mississippi's No. 9 prospect and a 5.6 three-star at corner.

Mississippi State's Terrell Buckley played a big part in landing Reed. "I really have a lot of respect for coach Buckley and we talk about every other day," he said recently of their relationship.
