Mississippi DL exploring all options

Leviticus Madison is fresh off visits to in-state schools, Mississippi State and Ole Miss and the 2020 defensive tackle is set to check out LSU this weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 332 pound junior out of Meridian is ready to see what is out there and explore the different options.

"I have not been on too many visits yet, so I am trying to get out as much as I can," said Madison. "I have offers from schools like Auburn, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and I want to see what is out there.

"I am from Meridian, Miss. and all most of us know are the in-state schools and a little bit about Alabama and Auburn. I want to see what else is out there."

A school showing a lot of interest is LSU. Madison has been in regular contact with coach Dennis Johnson and the Tigers have his interest.

"The way coach DJ has been talking to me, they seem really interested in me. They may have already offered me, but I am really not sure. He just wants me to get down there for a visit, so I will be there soon.

"I know they always have a good defense and I like coach DJ, so I want to check it out."

A school less than two hours from home in Starkville has really come on strong the last few weeks. Madison visited Mississippi State about a month ago and he spent a lot of time with new defensive line coach, Deke Adams, a graduate of Meridian.

"Coach Adams is from where I'm from, so that is really cool," said Madison. "We hung out a lot and we had a great talk. I like what he had to say and I had a good time up there.

"Coach Joe Moorhead has been talking to me a lot too. He is always texting me and showing me a lot of attention. Mississippi State is definitely a school that is recruiting me hard."

Matt Luke and the Rebels want to keep the best home and Madison is giving the Rebels a look as well.

"Ole Miss is a good school and I do like the environment there. The coaches are good guys and I am sure I will visit them again. I know they us to stay home and choose Ole Miss."

A school outside the South to keep an eye on is Notre Dame. The Irish have his attention.

"Notre Dame is pretty far away, so I have not been there, but they are another school that is recruiting me hard right now. I like how Notre Dame is a program now all about football. The coaches care for their players and want what is best for them after football too.

"It is a school that I really want to visit. A trip to Notre Dame is definitely on my list."

Madison named Alabama (no offer), Auburn, Clemson (no offer), Georgia (no offer), LSU (no offer), Mississippi State and Notre Dame as schools he is high on right now, but he is nowhere close to a decision.

He plans to be uncommitted heading into his senior season.

"I have to see more before I even think about committing," said Madison. "I plan to take my official visits in the fall, then make my decision. I like some schools, but I am really open right now.

"I have to get out, see who has my best interest first, see where I feel like part of the family and things like that before I will be ready to commit. I do not see that happening before my senior year."
