Jiles waiting on offers

Due to his track schedule, Clinton (Miss.) rising senior Cedric Jiles only got a couple of days to experience spring practice. But the 5-foot-10 and 175-pound cornerback took advantage of his time on the gridiron.
"I thought it went well for our team," said Jiles, who had 81 tackles, 10 PBUs and two interceptions last year. "Our offense got better and our defense got better. I only got to practice two days because of running with the track team. But I got right back in the mix and look forward to doing more summer workouts with my team. The good thing was that I was in good shape by being with the track team this spring."

Jiles currently holds offers from Mississippi State and Southern Miss, and noted a few other schools are also showing strong interest.
"I haven't picked up any new offers lately," said Jiles. "But Tennessee and Memphis are showing pretty good interest. They are mainly wanting to see me at their camps and see what I can do at camp."
Of his current offers, Jiles said he will visit those two schools this summer.
"I am going to camps at Mississippi State and Southern Miss," noted Jiles. "I think it is the first or second week of June that I will be at Mississippi State and then I will also go to Southern Miss this month."
And comparing those two schools, Jiles added there is not much separating the Bulldogs and Golden Eagles.
"Mississippi State is recruiting me the hardest," said Jiles. "And I would say I like both of them about the same. They are both kinda wanting me to commit but I am taking my time with recruiting. I want to see what may happen this summer and give all the schools recruiting me an even shot."
