Green gaining interest

Northwest Rankin (Miss.) High School's Nigel Green has made a few camp rounds this summer. The 6-foot-1 and 175-pound cornerback prospect has taken advantage of that opportunity to display his talent and speed on the gridiron.
Green recently went to camp at Mississippi State, Alabama and Southern Miss with future plans to go to Louisiana Tech and UAB.

In Starkville earlier this month, Green posted a solid showing in the forty and 1-on-1 drills.
"It was a lot of fun at Mississippi State," said Green, who had 89 tackles last year with 12 PBUs and two interceptions. "I ran a 4.4 forty and I only gave up two catches in 1-on-1 drills. Their coaches liked my footwork and the fact I am very coachable. They told me they liked what they saw in my drills and talked about how I got comfortable in what I was doing and went hard every play.
"And when I left, they invited me back for their Big Dawg Camp and that was encouraging to hear. I hope to have another good showing then, too."
And concerning the Bulldogs' program, Green talked of the positives that left an impression on him.
"Everything really stuck out to me," said Green. "I really the Mississippi State coaching staff. They are very friendly and make you feel at home. They work you hard at camp and encourage you and just make you feel like you are at home."
Owning an offer from Northwestern (La.) State, Green noted other schools showing him interest, which includes Mississippi State.
"Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette have shown some good interest," noted Green. "They all stay in contact with me and said they liked my film. They wanted to see me in person at camp and that is what I an trying to do this summer."
Also top priority this summer, said Green, is to make sure he opens his senior season improved in all facets of the game.
"I feel with every camp I am able to go to, I am getting better and better," said Green. "I am training well with my team, too, and using all the camp techniques to get better. And that is what the summer is supposed to be all about, just getting better on the football field."
