Diamond Dawgs Set for Series against Western Carolina

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Due to travel issues, Mississippi State will no longer play Hofstra in a four-game series this weekend. Instead, the Bulldogs will host Western Carolina for a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field. Hofstra was unable to make the trip as a result of extreme winter conditions. All Hofstra tickets will be used for the Western Carolina series.
The 2014 season opener is slated for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch Friday, followed by a 4 p.m. start Saturday. The series finale against the Catamounts will take place Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Friday's Valentine's Day affair will feature "Date Night at The Dude, with fans able to buy two drinks, two hot dogs and cotton candy for just $15. On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Maroon and White baseball pennant as former MSU All-American Jeff Brantley throws out the first pitch.
