Checking out MSU

Dalvin Tomlinson spent much of the 2010 season in opposing backfields and collected 76 tackles, including 7.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Judging from his offers list thus far, it is apparent that colleges also took notice of the Henry County (McDonough, Ga.) junior defensive lineman.
"I have offers from most of the SEC and the ACC," said the 6-foot-6 and 270-pound Tomlinson. "I have offers from teams like Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Clemson from those conferences. I also have offers from Michigan and Southern Cal and some other schools, too."

Listed on Rivals.com's Top 250 Watch list for 2012, Tomlinson recently took an unofficial visit to Mississippi State and observed the Bulldogs' first scrimmage of the spring.
"I liked their campus, their coaches and just the overall atmosphere at the school," said Tomlinson. "My favorite thing was seeing the intensity of their practices. I watched their D-linemen a lot and they have some good ones. I also liked the way their defensive linemen are coached."
Tomlinson added he got to spend some time after the scrimmage with a few of the Bulldog coaches.
"Mississippi State has been recruiting me for awhile now," said Tomlinson. "Their coaches told me when I was ready to make a decision then they really wanted me there. They have a good program that is headed in the right direction and it was good to see that for myself."
And concerning his eventual college decision, Tomlinson said he was in no rush to make that call and was taking the recruiting process in stride.
"I don't have any favorites and I am just taking it slow," said Tomlinson. "I am just going to check out a lot of schools. I am looking at academics, the coaches, the campuses and how intense a team goes in practices and the season."
