Jackson (Miss.) Callaway cornerback Emanuel Dabney made an early commitment to Mississippi State on Wednesday.
"I wanted to get it out of the way so I could focus on my upcoming senior year," said Dabney.

The 2017 recruit says that "the atmosphere, the players, and the bond that I have with the coaches" are the things he likes about MSU.
Two of the Mississippi State assistant coaches have been keeping in contact with Dabney.
"Coach Hughes coached my dad in high school and me and coach Townsend have been close ever since the summer," explained Dabney. "We go back and forth with each other on Twitter and stuff."
Dabney got a firsthand experience of what it'll be like to be under Townsend's coaching at the Big Dawg Camp over the summer. He's excited to improve his craft under Townsend.
"He's great. It should be good," Dabney said.
Dabney visited Mississippi State twice this season for home games (Alabama, LSU).
"It feels like home," he said. "It's a friendly environment."
Dabney received the offer from the Bulldogs on Monday when Townsend came to Callaway.
"He gave me his card and wanted me to know that I had an offer from them," Dabney said.
Mississippi State has four commitments in the 2017 class.
