Bulldogs land JUCO All-American

Itawamba Community College sophomore pitcher Ben Hudspeth (Tupelo) announced his plans to join the Mississippi State University baseball team on Saturday.
"Very excited to announce my commitment to Mississippi State," Hudspeth said via twitter.

Last season, the Tupelo High School graduate earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First-Team All-American honors after finishing his freshman campaign with an 11-0 record along with a 1.82 ERA, 65 strikeouts and a save in 74 innings of work to lead the Indians (39-13) to the a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division championship and the semifinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to live my dream," said Hudspeth, who earned MACJC All-State and NJCAA All-Region honors this past season.
His 1.82 ERA ranked 13th amongst NJCAA pitchers while his 11 wins was the third most in the nation.
Hudspeth will be joining former Indian battery mate Zack Randolph (Amory), who signed with the Bulldogs during last year's early signing period, and makes it 11-straight seasons an Indian baseball player will have signed with a SEC baseball program.
