Brandon Thornton is in da house!

“God performed a miracle is all I can say,” commented Brandon Thornton’s mother, after finding out her son would be able to enroll at Mississippi State. “We just found out today. It was late this evening.”
While Brandon has been cleared to be a Bulldog, he must take the circuitous route, and will not be able to hit Scott Field as an official member of the team until the fall of 2005.

“He will be able to practice, but they are saying he is going to be red-shirting. He will participate in practice. He is a partial qualifier, that is what they called and told me.”
While he is eager to get to Starkville, Thornton’s quest for the next level will be delayed just a few more hours. A few more hours the anxious prospect will likely lie wide-eyed in anticipation.
“We are leaving first thing in the morning,” Mrs. Thornton commented. “They want me to bring him first thing in the morning.”
This brings the class of 2004 to a close for the Bulldogs, with only Rory Johnson, Damien Huren, and Kenny McClellan missing the mark. This makes 20 of 23 members of the 2004 signing class (counting grey-shirt Linzy Patterson and newcomer Brian Staley) making it to campus. Are the NCAA gods smiling on Starkville?
