With the spring now in his rear-view mirror, East Mississippi Community College's Denico Autry is focused on summer school to ensure his December graduation. But the rising sophomore defensive end may fit in a few visits when next month rolls around.
"Things are going pretty good and I am in summer school now," said the 6-foot-6 and 250-pound Autry. "I went to see Mississipp State and Ole Miss in the spring and then I went to see Alabama and Auburn. I will probably go back to visiting schools sometime in July. I am not sure who I may visit yet but I may go see Tennessee and then see Alabama again."
Autry owns numerous SEC and other BCS offers and his latest offers came down from Texas and Oregon. Among those schools that have offered, Autry said right now he was looking at a trio of SEC Western Division schools.
"All of the schools are recruiting me hard but I probably talk to Mississippi State the most," said Autry, who had 60 tackles last year, including 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. "Right now, the main three I am looking at are Alabama, Mississippi State and Auburn."
And Autry added why those three teams were catching his eye at the current moment.
"Those are the ones I really have my eye on and the ones I have looked at the most," said Autry, a North Carolina native. "I like those programs and I feel comfortable at those places and I want to play in the SEC. It may change up between now and December but that is who I am eyeing right now."
When that decision time does come, which Autry said would likely be in December, he noted of the factors he was studying the most.
"I have already redshirted so I am looking to play somewhere that I can get on the field the quickest," Autry said. "So I am looking at depth charts and a school where I can get a good degree."
