Austin Williams makes his Mississippi State commitment

As Ocean Springs (Miss.) wide receiver Austin Williams has done many times before, he visited Mississippi State on Saturday, with the occasion being the Bulldogs' annual Maroon and White spring game.

This visit wasn't a normal trip for Williams though. He made big news by committing to Mississippi State.

"The spring game was fun and I got to see a bunch of others recruits," said Williams. "I talked to them and a couple of commits. I hung out with the coaches a little bit and saw some of my future teammates.

"After the spring game, me and my family went back to the facility and talked with coach Mullen. I told him that I wanted to be apart of the family, and I wanted to commit. He was pumped and said that he was glad to have me."

Williams caught 56 passes for 928 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He believes he will fit in nicely in Dan Mullen's spread offense as he watched the spring game.

"They spread it out and throw it a lot," Williams said. "Everyone gets opportunities and you can tell they're well coached by coach Gonzales. Their techniques are really good."

The 6-foot-3, 202-pounder will likely be one of Mississippi State's more solid commitments, and he already has other recruits that he'll try to convince to come to MSU with him.

"I'm definitely going to work on some in-state kid," said Williams. "Off the top of my head, probably like Willie Gay, Kylin Hill, Cj Avery. I'll try to get everybody.
