Arkansas DL Names Leaders

"I’ve been going through off season training getting ready for the season," commented defensive tackle Quinton Harris (6-5, 297, 5.0) from Hall High in Little Rock. Harris says after evaluating schools throughout the summer, three have emerged as his leaders.

So who are Quentin’s top schools? "Right now Mississippi State, Texas, and LSU," he said. He says Mississippi State and Texas have both offered scholarships.
"Mississippi State more so than any one of them, probably, because they have shown more interest in me," Quenton said. "I think I like their school more than the other two, but they are all good schools. They just stand out more. Jackie Sherrill stands out, more so, because of his record as a coach as far as winning, and as far as what his program has to offer, and as far as being a good coach.
"I like the coach from Texas (Mac Brown) and the environment they have. It’s a real good learning environment, and I like the size of their campus.
"I like LSU’s defensive line coach, Coach Thompson, and the way they practice. I had a chance to go to their camp this summer."
Harris camped at LSU, but had to leave early. He had planned to go to MSU, but was unable to attend the camp.
Although he hasn’t set up any official visits, Quenton spoke to Bulldog offensive line coach Terry Lewis during the early evaluation period in May and talked about visiting Starkville. He also attended the MSU Junior Awareness Day.
As a junior Harris had 46 tackles, six sacks, and caused six fumbles from the defensive tackle position.
Quenton is working to become academically eligible and is scheduled to take the ACT in October. He plans to major in computer science.
Hall opens the season at home against Robinson.
