2013 defensive lineman looking at four

Dutchtown High School in Geismar, La., has been a hotbed of recruiting in the past few seasons. Next year, several schools will be looking at Dutchtown because of defensive lineman David Elias.
The 6-foot-3, 252-pounder is already hearing from big time schools and has already named a top four.

Elias has already gotten his first offer, but four other schools have jumped out for him. And while he likes those four schools, he reports that any school that shows him interest will have a shot with him.
"I have an offer from Arkansas State already," Elias said. "But my top four are Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama, and TCU. I would consider myself a three-technique player. I can really come off the ball very fast. I play every play at full speed and wherever the balls goes, you will find me as well."
Every player knows that there are things they need to work on to get better. Elias knows that and was quick to point out how he plans to get better this year.
"I want to get better at everything," Elias said. "I am really working on my footwork right now. That's something you can always do better. I am also working on getting my speed better. I want to get down in the 4.6 range and I am almost there. I am also working on my technique and my strength. I just want to be a complete defensive player."
One of the teams in Elias' top four is Mississippi State. He was kind of shocked to receive the early attention but was very happy to hear from the Bulldogs.
"I like them because they were the first school to be in contact with some mail," Elias said. "I have been doing a lot of research on them. It's a great school. They are also in the SEC and growing up in the south that means something. I want to go up there for a visit and for sure make their camps next year."
