Indy WR planning summer visits
Dyjuan Lewis of Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike.Michigan State is still in the race for four-star wide receiver
While the 6-3, 186-pound Lewis continues to take his time with his recruitment, he's been busy putting together a summer visit schedule.
"I plan to visit Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee," Lewis told SpartanMag.com, adding that he doesn't have specific dates set for the unofficial visits.
He also plans to visit the Spartans, which will actually be a rescheduled visit to the East Lansing campus. Lewis has already visited MSU once, for the Spartans' junior day back on Feb. 22.
"I had a visit planned, but the times for me and my coaches it didn't line up correctly to go," Lewis said. "I was supposed to go last weekend."
"It's a work in progress," Lewis added of setting up another visit with the Spartans.
When asked what he's been hearing from the MSU staff, Lewis said that, "I have good size and they would love to have me go to Michigan State and be one of the top guys at receiver.
"They see me as a big-time player on the outside, just mixing in with all the trick plays, regular plays, mixing all in the scheme."
At this stage in his recruitment, Lewis is open to all suitors. However, he plans to begin narrowing his list in the near future.
"I'll do it during the season," he said.
And he has an idea of what he's looking for in a school when his decision day approaches.
"Early playing time, academics and how many receivers are ahead of me right now," Lewis said.
But don't expect Lewis to make a decision anytime soon, as he's sticking to signing day as his decision deadline.
Lewis, a Rivals250 member, is ranked the No. 14 wide receiver by Rivals.com. He finished his junior season with 40 receptions for 380 yards and four touchdowns.
