- USC men's hoop coach Tim Floyd trying to defuse an altercation last week after a loss to Washington between Dwight Lewis and Daniel Hackett.



Hoop season is in full force at the Creek and California, Stanford and Arizona State are in the Top 25 of the NCAA women's RPI and the conference championship in swimming begins this week in Washington.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the NCAA announced that they will dedicate a website to display single year APR's for head coaches beginning next year.





California

In football, offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti left to become offensive coordinator at Pittsburgh, the Bears hired Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig as his replacement.



USC

In men's hoop, the Trojans received a verbal commitment from center Renardo Sidney.



Arizona State

In baseball, junior outfielder Jason Kipnis was named as the conference's player of the week.



Oregon State

In women's hoop, the Beavers defeated UC-Santa Barbara to improve to 16-10 overall [and 6-9 in Pac-10 play].



Stanford

In softball, the Cardinal defeated St. Mary's to improve to 13-1 overall on the year.



Arizona

In football, the Wildcats hired Texas Tech assistant Seth Littrell as an assistant coach for tight ends and running backs.



WSU

In men's hoop, Wazzu lost to USC but defeated UCLA to move to 6-9 in conference play and 14-13 overall on the year. Senior guard Taylor Rochestie was named as the conference'splayer of the week.

In women's hoop, the Cougars were swept by USC and UCLA to drop to 3-12 in conference play and 10-16 overall on the year.

In football, quarterback Marshall Lobbestael was suspended after an alcohol-related arrest.

In tennis, the Cougars lost to Oregon and Ohio State in non-conference matches to drop to 3-7 overall on the year.



UCLA

In women's gymnastics, freshmen Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and Vanessa Zamarripa were named as the conference's gymnast of the week and for special performance of the week.



Washington

In men's hoop, Washington lost to UCLA but defeated USC to move to 11-4 in conference play and 20-7 overall on the year.



Oregon

In men's hoop, the Ducks lost to California but defeated Stanford for their first Pac-10 win of the year and move to 1-14 in conference play and 7-20 overall.
