Keglar picked by Titans
Stanford Keglar is headed back to Nashville, site of his one and only pre-NFL draft team visit.
The former Boilermaker linebacker was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the draft Sunday, with the 134th overall selection.
It was a nerve-wracking wait for the Indianapolis native.
"(Projections) were saying I'd go in the third or fourth round," Keglar said. "I was getting a little nervous there, but I saw the Titans were coming up and I knew they were interested in me.
"I got the call and was really happy and relieved. It's exciting."
Tennessee, though, gave Keglar plenty of reason to believe he might be joining Vince Young and Co. in the Music City.
"They said (on my visit) they'd been really impressed with my (workout) performances," Keglar said, "and how I've played. They gave me a lot of really positive feedback."
A starter for most of his four seasons on the field for the Boilermakers, Keglar finished with 250 tackles, 12 of them for loss, with 12 breakups and three interceptions, the first of which sealed Purdue's dramatic win over Ohio State in 2004.
Keglar becomes the third Purdue player drafted, joining tight end Dustin Keller (first round - New York Jets) and defensive end/linebacker Cliff Avril (third round - Detroit Lions).
Keglar reports to Titans' rookie minicamp Thursday.
